GIST – Day 3
Day Three
- Setting an alarm, and once it goes off in the morning, making the conscious decision to turn it off and wake up whenever I feel like it. Greg and I both did this and we ended up getting out of bed at 1:30pm.
- The absolutely stunning riding trails in our area. My friend Kelly and I tacked up Tabu and Sugar and headed off on a pleasant hour-and-a-half ride around the loop, and then up the Thornhill trail. The girls had a good workout climbing that hill, but they were having a great time. Sugar was a superstar!
- The time I spent doting on Sugar after our ride. I put her in the sand arena to roll (twice, once for each side), then gave her a full-body hose-down and scrubbed off the saddle and bridle marks, and then I turned her out in the back pasture to graze for twenty minutes while I sat on the ground and thought about how wonderful I feel when I’m around my horse.

- A boyfriend that does my laundry while I’m off riding my horse. Seriously.
- Feeling stiff and energized from last night’s swim and today’s ride, and having a guilt-free ice capp (made with milk, not cream) from Tim Hortons.
